It's a humbling reality to be writing this brief author profile. I can remember my nine year old self being invited by my fourth-grade teacher to spend part of my lunch period reading to one of the kindergarten classes. No surprise, I jumped at the chance! I still recall the thrill of reading one of my personal favorites at that time: "Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina. I was on top of the world as I shared my passion for reading with five year old learners. Like reading, I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. I always kept diaries, journals, and still to this day, I express my personal interpretations of the world and experiences by voice recording, writing, sketching, painting, and even some free form dancing after a gloriously busy day! In fact, the first edition of Elevating Co-teaching through UDL was the result of my journaling as I navigated co-teaching as a middle school teacher in a world that was new to the idea of co-teaching. I am beyond honored to connect with colleagues across the world who, like me, strive to give our students all we’ve got!
