Jeffrey A. Lehman

Jeffrey Lehman is a contributing author to "Running Out of Time: Wildfires and Our Imperiled Forests" published in 2023. He brings global expertise to public, private, and governmental clients with more than 50 years of executive experience. Working with Fortune 50 U.S. companies and governmental agencies, Jeff provides his vast know-how on multinational logistics, security, organizational complexities and sales management.

An expert in airline operations, Jeff conceptualized, launched, directed and staffed World Airways multi-continent cargo operation where he served as vice president. As vice president of Lockheed’s Air Terminal company, Jeff headed the marketing department overseeing the conversion of an underutilized military airport into a dual use regional commercial-military airport. During that time, he worked with the Lt. Governor, state assembly and senate organizations as well as the New York State Congressional delegation and a politically appointed board of airport commissioners. He worked directly with multiple agencies of the U.S. Department of Transportation, including the administrators of the FAA and senior executives in various U.S. and foreign airlines. As the vice president of private industry affairs for the Airport Council International (formerly the Airport Operators Council International), Jeff was responsible for the design and implementation of programs that represented the collective interests of the private sector, airports, governments, subject matter experts and organizations in promoting excellence in advancing standards in the global airport and aviation industries. He has received recognition awards from the Secretary of Transportation and the FAA for spearheading the opening of significant airspace in the northeast corridor of the United States.

Jeff also served as senior vice president and general manager of Mid Pacific Airport Corporation (MPAC) where he was responsible for the transformation of the airline from a cargo charter carrier to a regional scheduled airline working with other air and integrated carriers across various market sectors. During his tenure, he was also involved with the selection of new aircraft and aircraft leasing, operations, customer service, route planning and pricing.

Additional engagements included serving as an international aviation consultant with McDonnell Douglas and Boeing Defense Systems on the development of the commercial variant of the C-17 aircraft and its unique capabilities to change management of global logistics as well as for use by commercial entities and various governmental agencies. His involvement led to deep engagements with the U.S. Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security and the Government Printing Office, as well as the ministries of defense of the United Kingdom, Canadian Department of National Defense and Defense Australia.

He served on the boards of National Industrial Transportation League, Washington, DC, the George C. Marshall International Center of Leesburg, VA, The Corporate Angel Network, White Plains, NY and the Greater Washington Aviation Open a charity focused on providing transportation for cancer patients to and from treatment centers and for the Veterans Uplift Command.
