Darren E Price

Darren E. Price, MA, MEP, is an adjunct professor at Idaho State University and Mount Vernon Nazarene University, having previously served in the same capacity at Ohio Christian University. Marrying academia with real-world practitioner experience, Darren retired from public service in September 2020 after 34+ years of government service, including nearly 20 years with the Ohio Emergency Management Agency as a regional operations supervisor and, prior to that, the agency's exercise program manager. In addition, he also served with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction for nearly 11 years as a Correction Officer and Assistant Special Response Team (SRT) Commander.

Darren has presented on various topics at numerous homeland security and emergency management conferences across the United States and at a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Specialist’s Meeting. In addition, he has published articles related to homeland security and emergency management for the International Association of Emergency Managers and the Domestic Preparedness Journal. Darren has a Master of Arts degree in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (with concentrations in leadership and criminal justice) from Ohio Christian University, and is a nationally recognized expert in exercise design/development, conduct, evaluation, and improvement planning. In 2004, Darren earned the certificate title of master exercise practitioner (MEP) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Management Institute, where he also serves as an adjunct instructor. Darren is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as an intelligence analyst in the United States and Germany.
