Her fiction includes the Cindy Lou Butts Mystery Series, the Bella Louise cozy mysteries, and The Sacred Wild Chronicles, beginning with In the Shadow of an Orange Cat. Whether she is writing about a vertically challenged forensic psychologist with unusual abilities, a cat with strong investigative opinions, or a mature heroine chosen by an orange cat feared by dragons, Cindy is drawn to capable women, complicated loyalties, unexpected magic, and humor that arrives at precisely the wrong moment.

Before focusing on writing, Cindy’s winding professional life included classified work she affectionately calls her “secret squirrel” years, hospitality and resort leadership, behavior therapy, and holistic wellness.
