Cameile Henry is a Professor in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) at the Sheridan Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning in Brampton, ON, Canada. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and professor, she has over 25 years of facilitating learning opportunities and environments for children from infancy to 12 years of age. She is also a consultant, trainer and coach for educators and families in the topic of race, interpersonal communication, and resiliency in young children.
She is a facilitator of ‘Circle of Security’, an international program that supports parents and primary care providers with the tools to enhance building strong attachments with their children in their care. She is also a trainer of ‘The Positive Discipline Way’, an international program which provides strategies for parents and teachers who wish to help children develop self-discipline, responsibility, and positive capabilities and attitudes.
Cameile also works as an Education and Diversity Consultant for ‘Jeremy and Jazzy’ with Verite Productions. ‘Jeremy and Jazzy’ is an animated comedy-musical-adventure series about song and story creation for children aged 3 to 7, parents and caregivers. The children’s program focuses on the premise that feelings become songs, songs become stories, and how music, friendship and collaboration create joy. Her role as the Educational and Diversity Consultant involves ensuring that equity, diversity, and inclusion is built into the songs and short animated episodes. Also, she is responsible for curriculum design of activities in the areas of language and literacy development, mathematics, social and emotional development.
Cameile enjoys performing puppet plays that enhance children’s social-emotional development and encourages empowerment.
