Alison Hughes

Alison Hughes is the author of 20 books for young adults and children, which have been translated into Korean, French, Dutch and Turkish. Her books have been Junior Library Guild and Bank Street College Best Book selections, and have won the Writer's Union of Canada Writing for Children Award and the Alberta Literary Award for children's writing (R. Ross Annett Award). Alison's books have been nominated for Canada's Governor-General Literary Awards and 12 times for children's choice awards across Canada. When Alison isn't writing, she works as a University writing advisor/editor, volunteers with community development, walks her dogs, and rummages in thrift shops.
