Kay Gill

For Kay, writing is the overflow of her many passions…

She has been globetrotting for decades in the name of exploration, in pursuit of extreme adventures, and on missions to historically important places. She worked for twenty years as a teacher for a charity that provided adult education in developing countries. Many of her students had suffered extreme poverty and conflict trauma, but Kay was impacted by how the power of words, knowledge, and practicality help transform people and communities. She loves cooking up a feast for family and friends, inspired by how hospitality fuels a (positive) creative atmosphere.

She is married to Andrew and mother of four children (seven including spouses) and seven grandchildren.

These threads are just some of Kay’s passions that are woven into the tapestry of her writing. She also loves to pen a story in the genre of magical realism, although, for her, she just writes it as she sees it!

She currently lives in coastal Hampshire and rural North Devon, although for a while she lived in Scotland, the inspiration for The Legend of Ardnamurchan.
