Annette Allison

Annette Allison is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, having lived there for 68 years. She has also traveled extensively with her husband, more recently during her retirement years. Her combined adventures throughout the southeast and western United States as well as the world, have inspired her to write for both children and adults.

As a teacher, she worked in several different settings throughout her 31 years as an educator, from preschool to college age instruction. She saw the imaginative side of young children and listened to their questions about growing up. She observed both the angst of adolescents, and young adults who were navigating adventure, insecurity, and love. All of these experiences have influenced her books for children and her novels.

Her first children's book, "A Dinosaur in the Woods," is not just an adventure tale of Rex the Dinosaur, although it does include that element. It is also a story of growing up and realizing that life gradually shows us our path.

Her first full length novel, "Finding Faithful," combines a young woman's adventures, challenges, and search for a home and love. (This book is written under her other pen name, Vicie Annette Allison, which honors her grandmother through the use of her first name.)

Annette feels that she is finally honoring her dream of writing and the love that her mother and father expressed for reading, by beginning to have her works published. Although there are many great writers to choose from, Annette hopes that readers will begin to sample her works.

When she is not writing, Annette enjoys being with her husband, Neal, her daughter, and son-in-law, Courtney and Sterling, her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Janeth, and, of course, her grandson, Hudson. (Courtney is also the illustrator for "A Dinosaur in the Woods," and Brian is a large part of the inspiration for the story.)

“Rex is fine and so is the boy, but sometimes they both miss the woods.”
