Hi, I'm Barry, and I'm pleased to meet you. I'm seventy-eight and live in France with my partner, Frances, and a cat called Carmel. (Although I prefer dogs), We are English (apart from Carmel) and love it here in Brittany. My pet interests are English, science, and music. I currently have twelve books in print. My novel is called 'Diamonds Are for Trevor.' I have three poetry books. 'Award Winning Rhyme' (a collection of poems), 'Haiku' (a collection of English haiku poems and information about how to write haiku, and 'Schrödinger's Cat' (a collection of poems). This year, I completed 'Does It Matter?' The Unresolved Conflict Between Quantum Mechanics and Einstein's Theory of General Relativity and Living in Brittany. I have also recently completed 'Music Makers': The History of Music. The complete series is now available.
Part 1 includes Medieval music, great Classical composers, blues, jazz, dance, folk, Oriental, and more.
Part 2 reflects on the Golden Age (1930-1960) and follows the development of swing, rock, country, and folk music up until 1960.
Part 3 explores the Swinging 60s, including great British bands like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and others. There is more on the folk revival with singers such as Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, the famous Woodstock and Isle of Wight festivals, and much more.
Part 4 examines the retro era. Pop idols, groups, and more.
Part 5 studies the 21st century and all the new subgenres.
Part 6, Musical Makers, is a spiritual companion to Music Makers and is dedicated to musicals.
All books in the series are available in Kindle, paperback, and hardcover formats.
Please enjoy, and if possible, leave a review. Thank you. Barry
