Lynanne Jamison

Lynanne Jamison, Ed.D. is the Associate Dean and Director of Student Advocacy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She has worked in higher education for over 20 years, serving students and families directly in various student affairs and success positions centered on advocacy and support, family engagement, orientation and transition programs, residential life, leadership, and campus activities at VCU, Georgia Southern University, Virginia Tech, the University of Tennessee, and Christopher Newport University.

Lynanne completed her Ed.D. in leadership at VCU, her M.S. in student affairs and higher education from the University of Tennessee, and her B.A. in sociology with minors in leadership studies and psychology from Christopher Newport University. She champions student and family advocacy, with a particular passion for building increased support for first-generation families, students in crisis, and post-traditional students with parenting or caregiving responsibilities.

She lives in Richmond, VA and loves reading, writing, live music and theatre, festivals, baking, and antiquing!
