Chris Heaslip is an entrepreneur and the Executive Chairman of Leadr, a new kind of people development software which enables one to one leadership development at scale within an organization. The launch to market, made in April 2020, was highly received, and Leadr has continued to develop it into an invaluable tool for organizations. The company closed its $10M Series A round, led by Bedrock, in July of 2021.
Prior to joining Leadr, Chris co-founded the highly successful Pushpay, the online giving platform which grew rapidly from $1 million to over $100 million in revenue in just four years. Chris, along with his co-founder Eliot Crowther, came to the realization that business isn’t about what you can get, it’s about what you can give and how you can make a difference in other people’s lives.
All of Chris’ endeavors are based in his attitude that careers are overrated. Early on, Chris believed that you don’t start a career or business, you answer a calling. Pushpay was started as a calling. As Chris looked back at his time as a leader, it was the people he developed along the way that he is most proud of. He realized that leadership is a privilege, it should be taken seriously, and that he owes the people who work for him to steward that responsibility carefully. Therefore, Leadr is a calling placed on Chris’ heart.
Chris was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and prior to migrating to the US, he served as
CEO of an accounting and tax consultancy and prior to that, as a tax management professional and business adviser at KPMG. Chris was also an investigator at the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department.
Chris resides just outside of Dallas with his wife, Sarah, and 3 children.
