Ronald E. Bartholomew

Elder Ron Bartholomew is currently serving as missionary for the Church as the Transcription Verifier for the Joseph Smith Papers Project—Old and New Testaments. He received a doctorate from the University of Buckingham in London, England. He serves as the President of Latter-day Mission Studies and is responsible for changing the LDS Church’s international classification from “Marginal Christian” to “Independent Christian.” His research interests include LDS Missionary Work. He was recently featured in The Palgrave Handbook of Global Mormonism. His chapter was on LDS missionary work. He also published “The Missional Enterprise of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” in the International Bulletin of Mission Research, and “The Proselytizing Enterprise of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” in Latter-day Saint Historical Studies. He and his wife, Kristen, have seven children and seventeen grandchildren.
