Sandra A. Shachar, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has over thirty years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families affected by Betrayal Trauma. From the start of her career — with academic research and teaching positions at institutions such as St. Louis University Medical Center, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Missouri - St. Louis, and University of Missouri - Columbia/ Missouri Institute of Mental Health — Dr. Shachar’s work addressed issues of sexuality and intimacy.

Dr. Shachar is a Certified Imago Relationship therapist, and a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist with the Association for Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists/APSATS. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Missouri Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health/SASH, APSATS, Imago Relationships North America/IRNA and Mid-Atlantic Imago Therapists/MAIT.
