Ted Brown

My wife and I have been married for 53+ years. We relocated nine times and always sought a faith community to anchor our nomad existence. We both have served our churches in youth fellowship, small groups, and leadership positions.

I have studied culture and change management in business and in churches for decades. Undoubtedly, the church culture has the deeper roots and more informal systems than business culture. BUT, churches have a higher purpose and can be realigned with that purpose; they can redefine their identity in the community.

This book is different in that Andy and I wrote most of the chapters independently. It took less than an hour to merge our transcripts. Given that we did not live in the same communities and given that Andy is a pastor and I am a lay person, the unity of our perspectives is remarkable.

This book is a legacy of my faith journey and I hope that it provides a roadmap to church vitality and God's purpose for your life.
