I am a retired teacher/counselor. After years of encouraging students to write and express themselves I decided that it was high time I should follow my own advice. It is one thing to tell other people to do something - it is another thing to do it yourself. The result was a fiction story, "The White Vase", based on an event I recalled from the distant past. It turned out well, I thought, and I awarded myself an "A". Why not? My only readers were my family and they weren't going to award the story a "C" were they?

With that generous self-pat on the back I was encouraged to write more fiction with topics ranging from mystery to magic as well as stories about ordinary people solving problems in their own way - such as "Ripples on a Pond". Great fun to create and hopefully pleasurable to read!

In addition to creating characters and conflicts in short stories, I enjoy gardening, cooking, music performances, theatre, and the sights and sounds of this beautiful city where I live, San Diego.
