Farhat Zareen is a storyteller who built worlds before she knew how to write them down.
She began with notebooks—the kind with spiral bindings and covers that frayed at the edges—filling them with characters who refused to stay quiet. Those characters became the Twelve Butterflies, a five-book paranormal romance series spanning three realms, twelve couples, and a thousand-year prophecy. The series includes Butterfly in a Vampire's Cage, Wings of Forgotten Memories, and The Black Rose Blooms, with two more books coming soon.
She writes across genres because stories, she believes, don't arrive with labels attached. Hidden Connection is her contemporary literary novel—a quiet, unflinching exploration of family, control, and the radical act of choosing yourself.
For younger readers, she has written Sparkle Lands: Magical Bunny—a gentle adventure about kindness as the deepest magic—and another children's book currently being polished for release.
The fluctuations of emotions are really very tricky. This is something she knows deeply—as a writer, as a reader, as a human navigating the messy, beautiful, impossible work of feeling everything. Her stories don't pretend emotions are simple. They sit with the complexity. They let characters be uncertain, contradictory, and real.
When she is not writing, Farhat is reading, drinking tea that has gone cold while lost in a manuscript, or explaining to her family that the voices in her head are "character development."
She believes that every story is a door. She hopes you'll walk through.
