Judson Blake

“…a master of the genre.”

Midwest Book Review

For several years Blake directed and acted on stage in New York, from Shakespeare and Pinter to stand-up comedy and improv. His full length play Perversion, a bitter political satire, ran for five weeks in the West Village. His fiction has appeared in 2019 American Emerging Writers Series, Bewildering Stories, The Loch Raven Review, Ariel Chart, Whistling Shade and others. His crime novel, The Rope Juggler, published by Stark House Press, has received praise from critics and established writers. For example:

“Hardboiled, noirish, often surreal, this debut novel had me thinking about auteurs as disparate as Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, and David Lynch.”

Mystery Scene Magazine

“A truly compulsive page turner of a read from cover to cover, "The Rope Juggler" by Judson Blake will have a special appeal to readers with an interest in a deftly crafted murder mystery by a master of the genre.”

Midwest Book Review

“Neatly plotted, well-characterized, and absorbingly written. A commendable debut.”

Bill Pronzini, author of fifty novels.
