Steven A Finly

As a multiple award-winning screenwriter, novelist, and guitar aficionado, Steven Finly has been a professional writer and musician since his teenage days growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. A world traveler, he loves to vicariously share his adventures, insight, acerbic humor, and some of life's harsher realities through the characters in his novels and screenplays. Steven's newest books currently include his 60s and 70s based "The HIPSTERS TRILOGY" ("Wasted," High Life," and "The Cocaine Diet") along with his contemporary, Florida-based dark-comedy, "SINdication," and his new supernatural horror trilogy "The Rippers' Gambit, Book One; They Follow the Sun."

Back in the late 60s, Steven scored a dream job working for Russ Gibb at Detroit's infamous Grande Ballroom. He soon became a 16-year-old 'kid-chauffeur' for bands like The Cream, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Traffic, and many others (by driving them around in his mom's station wagon). All of which instilled a passion for music and creative writing in him. Steven even took guitar lessons from the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent when "Terrible Ted" was a guitarist for his older brother's band, The Lourds (which became the Amboy Dukes).

As a writer, Steven's first screenplay, "Off Season," sold just days after completion, and his first novella, "Blind Trust," was made into the feature film, "Black Heart." As a member of the Writers Guild of America, West, he's had seven of his scripts produced into feature films, and garnered more than a dozen writing awards. Steven's current book, "Wasted," was a top 100 finalist in the Launch Pad Prose writing contest (out of several thousand entries), and his follow-up book, "SINdication" is based on an award-winning screenplay of the same name.
