Jean Pierre Le Mat has several identities. He is a Breton nationalist, and also an agricultural engineer, a business manager, a writer, a father and probably something else. Denying conscription in the French army, he experienced exile in Ireland (a Celtic country...), the life of an agricultural worker in Scotland, that of "rustabout" on oil barges in the North Sea, then military prison and deprivation of civil rights for 10 years. He was president of a Breton political party, independentist and libertarian. He created veterinary diagnostic laboratories, then his own animal health traceability company, which became the French leader in its niche. He wrote history books, revisited Breton legends, and works of reflection.
