Bárbara Gil

Barbara Gil was born in 1980 in Bilbao. She is the author of "Water Lilies Shines in Sad Waters" (Plaza y Janés, 2021), "The Legend of the Volcano" (Plaza y Janés, 2023), and the writing notebooks "Your Novel" and "Bradbury Challenge" (Páginas de Espuma, 2020).

She holds a degree in Journalism and has worked in documentation at the newspaper El Mundo, in communication departments of agencies such as Vocento and NUBA Viajes, and in publishing houses such as Oxford University Press. She also studied Hispanic Philology and History. She has a Master's degree in Narrative from the Escuela de Escritores in Madrid; in Graphic Design, Multimedia, and Digital Video from Academia Mac-Line Bilbao; and in European Union Studies from the European Institute, that led her to a Contract Agent position in the European Union through competition.

In January 2013, she opened "EscribE" in Málaga, her first writing school, which later moved to Mallorca, where she currently resides, directing the school and a book club at the Agapea bookstore. She also conducts virtual workshops on narrative technique and how to write and plan a novel at the Escuela de Escritores and at Cursiva, where she tutors courses with Isabel Allende and Julia Navarro, among others.
