Chöying Khandro

Chöying Khandro has been recognized for over 25 years as an inspiring, innovative, and accessible teacher of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. She trained extensively in India and the Himalayas from 1976 to 1985 under many of the great Tibetan masters of that era, and holds degrees in Buddhist Studies from Waseda University and the University of Michigan. She is also trained in body-oriented disciplines, bringing an integrative approach to her teaching.

As a heart disciple of the late Ninth Jetsün Dampa Khalkha Jampel Namdröl Chökyi Gyeltsen (1933–2013), Khandro-la completed the full protocols of the rare and precious Machik Dakini Ear-Whispered Lineage of Chö. Inspired by his encouragement, she founded—and continues to serve as the spiritual leader of Dakini’s Whisper, an international online community dedicated to integrating ancient wisdom into the lives of contemporary practitioners around the world.
