Eric Quintanilla was born in Abilene Tx to Juventino and Martha Quintanilla. He has one brother named Joel. Eric is married to Alanna Quintanilla and has three children, Logan, Jami, and Alexis Quintanilla. Eric comes from a family dedicated to service to the country and others. His military lineage includes his father (Air Force), brother (Air Force), son (Marine), and several uncles (Army, Air Force, and Navy) who have served in the military.
Eric Quintanilla graduated high school from Burkburnett, Tx, in 2002 and entered the Army in 2003 as a Combat Medic. His first duty assignment was at Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion 8th Calvary Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1St Calvary Division, Ft. Hood, Tx. During his time at Ft Hood, he deployed three times (2004-2005; 2006-2008; 2009-2010) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. On his deployment in 2004, he was injured in combat, receiving the Purple Heart, and he also earned the coveted Combat Medic Badge for treating causalities under enemy fire.
After completing his third tour, he applied to cross-train as a Licensed Practical Nurse. He graduated nursing school in 2011 and was stationed at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI. While stationed at Tripler, Eric Quintanilla pursued his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Phoenix Hawaii Campus. He graduated in 2016 and was stationed at Brooke Army Medical Center, Joint Base San Antonio, Tx, that same year.
In December 2017, Eric again pursued higher education and applied and was accepted to the University of Southern California Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He completed his degree in December 2020 and passed his Board Certification in January 2021.
Eric Quintanilla takes the practice of being a lifelong learner to heart by earning his Personal Trainer Certification and Nutrition Coaching Certification from The National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is the first in his immediate family to strive to achieve his doctorate.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as his mother, father, and brother. He also enjoys avidly working out and relaxing at the beach. Eric Quintanilla’s hobbies include writing novels, playing guitar, reading, and attending rock concerts \m/ \m/ . He also volunteers his time for various organizations and causes.
