Thank you for taking an interest in my book and, I suppose, me too since you have arrived here at my biography. I am currently an academic at the University of Greenwich in London, where I washed up over a decade ago. This, though, was after thirty years drifting aimlessly around our little planet. If I were trying to impress you I would regale you with tales of driving trucks over miles of the English blacktop, trekking in the Himalaya, flying helicopters in the USA and teaching English to the unwilling high school students of Japan. Then again, if I were confessing to you my sins I would have to admit to chalking up more personal failures than a lemming with vertigo. Along the way, I fitted in a degree in psychology, an MBA by distance learning and a PhD in automotive economics (after several attempts - I don't want to talk about it). I like to think I have managed to squeeze all of this incoherent experience into my book, Managing International Business.

But why should you buy it? I will tell you why. Decolonisation of the curriculum is a popular rallying call in education these days, and no one should argue with the principles. But the elephant in the room, and it is a very fat elephant, is the cost of education to students around the world. I know from my travels that students everywhere share the same hunger for knowledge yet their access to it is dictated by their ability to first obtain the funds to afford it. To be specific, the price of textbooks is absolutely scandalous. I am grateful to Amazon for allowing me to fix the price of the ebook at around that of a cappuccino and a chocolate muffin; I like to think that students of any nation can afford to buy it and maybe, just maybe, feel that their investment has not been wasted.
