Simon van de Loo

Simon van de Loo was born on November 26th, 1991 in Düsseldorf, Germany. At a young age, he developed a strong interest in literary texts. During his school years, he discovered his love for the fantasy genre and began writing his first stories at around the age of 10.

In 2015, he started the project "Steamworks&Fangs", a young adult crossover of fantasy and coming-of-age drama, which was never fully completed.

Simon van de Loo's writing style is characterized by an active use of descriptions and metaphors as well as deep insights into the thoughts of his protagonists. After a long break, during which he pursued his profession in elderly care and became a father, he found inspiration in 2022 to work on a new big novel project. This led to the creation of "Tales of Martyria", a steampunk/fantasy epic with a strong sense of the psychological aspects of his characters, and "Martyria Stories", a series of novellas and short stories set in the same world.
