Jo Beth Cairns

Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to introduce myself as Jo, writing has always been a passion of mine, and I'm thrilled to finally share my work with young readers. As a lover of animals, particularly dogs, my stories are often centered around animals and their adventures. My passion for travel has also played a significant role in my writing, as I've had the opportunity to explore different countries and places such as the African Jungle. This is where and how I gain inspiration for my illustrations through art and photography. I have always loved telling stories to children. Whether it was with my younger relatives or at a children's holiday summer camp, I found joy in sharing my imagination with others. One of the characters that always seemed to capture their attention was Wally the Ally, a charming and adventurous baby alligator who loved to shuffle in bushes! As I continued to share stories about Wally, the children became enamored with him and always wanted to do the actions with me, of Wally sneakily shuffling in the bushes. It made the children laugh.

Later on, I began to develop a new series of stories centered around a mischievous pup. These stories were inspired by the real-life antics of my own beloved dog, and the children I told them to couldn't get enough of her silly antics and lovable personality.

As I began to write and illustrate my own books, I knew that I wanted to bring these characters and their stories to a wider audience. I'm thrilled to say that both Wally the Alley and Rosie the Pup have become beloved characters in my children's books, and I'm excited to embark on this journey and share my stories with young readers everywhere.
