Skye + Fam

Skyler Farasat is a young, female author of 5 self-empowerment picture books from California, USA. Her stories celebrate family and empower kids of all ages to feel centered, supported, and loved in the world. Skyler along with her mom and dad - Payel Farasat and Joe Farasat - write under the pen name Skye+Fam.

Skyler has been meditating with her parents since she was a baby. She shares her simple yet powerful techniques of staying mindful and grounded while forming her space in the family and finding her place in the world.

Skye is a 6th grader and has been a student of Waldorf education since age 4. Since Waldorf pedagogy centers around inner work, Skye leaves us with exploratory questions and white space for interactive exercises, so we too can practice our inner work around our own family and self-love along with her.

Joe and Payel are Skye’s parents. Both are financial services executives, impact investors, advisors, and certified in coaching, consulting, and mindfulness.

Joe envisioned the concept of their first book, So Many Ways To Be Family (2023), after his divorce many years ago when he searched everywhere for a comforting and empowering children’s book for his three young sons that was supportive of single parent and blended families. After getting remarried and growing the family, Joe and Payel expanded the concept to include cultural, socioeconomic, and mixed families. Skye couldn’t agree more, and so they started working together on completing what began as a crazy idea to publish 1 book.

Skye+Fam's writing journey turned into a book series of 5 books that now includes their newest release, Georgina (2024) - an enchanting coloring book with a sweet story of friendship, traveling, and life's changing seasons.
