Alan Douglas Kiphut

Alan lives in Beaverton, Oregon. He has a bachelor's degree in Sociology, has volunteered as a group leader for several children's programs, and worked in the environmental field for more than 25 years. He has always been curious about, and interested in, people's relationship with the world around them, in cities and nature. With his illustrated children's book, Natalia and the Monarch Rangers, and his collection of poetry, Ripples in the River, now completed Alan is currently working on a memoir, focused in part on his father's suicide, which was kept secret for most of his life. Alan enjoys walks in the woods behind his house with his wife Dawn and dog Tucker.
