Maggie Williams Richmond

A perennial bookworm and student, Maggie Williams Richmond has enjoyed a varied career including nursing, social care management, and charity administration.

Having formerly balanced work and travel, Maggie spent the first five years of her retirement labouring with her husband William to restore an old stone house in the foothills of the French Pyrenees. At the same time, she continued to compose songs, write poems, and publish a quirky reflective blog, co-authored with her dog Shadow. After returning to the UK, Maggie lived for a while in her beloved Scotland, where she adopted LunaCat. They now live in Norfolk on the edge of an ever-changing tidal estuary.

Maggie continues to delve deeply into her family tree and has developed a collection of stories based on the lives of her ancestors – The Ancestor Series. The ancestors themselves are a very mixed bunch, including a much-maligned Scottish nobleman, a transported convict, a Welsh preacher, and a Belfast industrialist.

The Ancestor Series currently comprises the already published 'Costly Truths', 'Course Adjustments', 'Sampson and Son', 'Present in the Past', 'Distant Lives', and 'Here and There'. Work on #7 has just begun!
