Paula Miller Jacobson

Paula Miller Jacobson has been editing cookbooks, developing and testing recipes, proofreading, indexing, and teaching cooking for over thirty years. She is a partner in Cookbook Construction Crew, a service for mentoring authors throughout the writing and publishing process.

Paula studied English and linguistics at the University of Maryland. She received a BA in theoretical linguistics and continued with post-graduate work in a doctoral program.

Paula has edited and tested recipes for nutrition counselors, wellness coaches, and vegan, Italian, Turkish, Iraqi, kosher, Sephardic, Azerbaijani, Mahgrebi, Greek, and pastry chefs; as well as for books about bread, canola oil, general cooking, and diabetes management.

Paula collaborated on a book for the National Osteoporosis Foundation—Healthy Bones: Build Them for Life, The Food-for-Bones Cookbook. She coauthored Flavors of the Maghreb and Southern Italy: Recipes from the Land of the Setting Sun with Alba Carbonaro Johnson and Sheilah Kaufman.

Paula is an active member of Les Dames d'Escoffier International, International Association of Culinary Professionals, Slow Food, and Culinary Historians of Washington.
