By the time I was 12 years old, I had lived in three different countries, China, Taiwan, Korea and United States of America, faced three different cultures and spoke three foreign languages guided by a single mom through two war torn states. I am extremely proud of my Chinese background and heritage. However, because I have been living in the United States for more than 60 years, educated and worked in the English language and western culture, I think more like an American than as an Asian. With a supportive and close-knit family, I adjusted well in high school and college in Maryland. I succeeded professionally in a clinical laboratory, a research laboratory and spent nearly 25 years corporate arena of a major pharmaceutical company. I met my beautiful wife, Arlene in college and we have just celebrated our 50th anniversary in July 2022. We have one daughter, Kim who has two wonderful children, David and Kate. Responding to my spiritual calling, my wife and I served as missionaries planting a church in Bangkok, Thailand. Returning to plant a Chinese church in Charlottesville, Virginia. Following the footsteps of Mr. and Mrs. Price our personal sponsors to America, we sponsored a Thai girl to America, May who is married to Daniel Morovan and they have two children, Ben and Alicia who call us Papa and Nana.
