Kate Rolfe lives in the Suffolk countryside, where she illustrates in cyanotype (printmaking with sunlight) and mixed media.
In 2022, Kate was the winner of the World Illustration Award for New Talent in Children’s Publishing, was named V&A Student Illustrator of the Year, and was runner-up in the Batsford Prize, Macmillan Prize, and the Sebastian Walker Prize.
Kate especially enjoys stories that ask important and often difficult questions, but in a warm and hopeful way. Kate is proud to be neurodivergent and has a deep interest in exploring topics around neurodiversity and mental health.
