Gardening, food and farming writer, podcaster and horticultural educator, Helen Cross grew up on a farm on the south west coast of Scotland but escaped to the city when she was 17. Now the mother of three, although very much a city dweller is passionate about connecting all people, but especially children to nature and educating them as to where there food comes from to benefit not only the health of the environment but also their own mental health. Having suffered from a long history of mental health issues herself she has experienced first hand how gardening and cooking seasonally can have a transformational impact on our own mental and physical mental wellbeing.
Helen hosts the award winning podcast, Grow Cook Inspire, and in 2022 was a finalist in the Alan Titchmarch New Talent of Year at the Gardening Media Guild Awards. Her debut book Grow Cook Inspire: Growing and cooking for a healthier mind and planet was published in April 2023
