Richard Wayne Perkins

I am Richard Wayne Perkins, born January 20, 1953 In Beckley West Virginia. I graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School(Beckley WV) in 1970, Concord College (Athens WV) with a BS Degree in Accounting and Business Management in 1976, Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Blacksburg, VA ) in 1977 in Advanced Accounting. I was employed as Controller for a Greenbrier County manufacturing company for 35 years, retiring in 2011. I was a partner in a successful home construction concern building many houses and townhouses in Lewisburg, WV. I am married with two children and two grandchildren.

After more than 20 years training, I achieved the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt, Master Instructor in the Chung Do Kwan style of Taekwon-Do in 2007.

I have written books, short stories, training manuals and articles for many years, all unpublished. After discovering , through several years of genealogical research, that my family history came through the Patawomeck Native American tribe of Tidewater, Virginia and that my Native American ancestors were instrumental assisting the English Settlers in their survival efforts at Jamestown in 1607, I was inspired to write about this little known tribe who were tremendous examples of Native American society and their importance to the development English Colonization of America with my first published book, The Last Days of the Patawomeck Indians of Virginia, coming out in May 2023
