The author, Jerry Justice, has been teaching aquatic lessons with an emphasis on swimmers living with disabilities since 2015. He helped develop programs in Augusta, Ga, Atlanta Ga, and recently was asked to help create an inclusive program in Massachusetts at his local YMCA where he is currently the Director of Inclusion Programs. Over the years he has taught hundreds of swimmers with varying disabilities the skills necessary to become self-sufficient in an aquatic setting. The swim lessons Jerry teaches were recently featured on "Good Morning America." He is also a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant since 2016 and uses those skills to better serve his programs.
The illustrator, Kim Codner, is a full-time artist. Her artwork is featured on clothing, stationary, home goods, and more. She is also an IATSE scenic artist where she creates sets for theater, television, and film. She is excited to be illustrating her first children's book with her husband, Jerry. Kim and Jerry reside north of Boston with their amazing little rescue dachshund mix, Bella.
