Walter Shepherd is an Australian author, photographer, traveller, diagnostic scientist, and quality auditor whose work brings together visual storytelling, evidence-based thinking, and practical reasoning tools.

Walter’s creative journey began in 1970 when he picked up an Olympus camera and developed a lifelong passion for photography. Over more than fifty years, he has travelled widely, photographed across many countries, and refined a style shaped by curiosity, composition, light, place, and story. His early books, including Scottish Cow Poetry in Pictures and Scottish Highland Cow Photo Finding Traveller Story, grew from his travels through Scotland and his love of turning photographs into character, humour, poetry, and visual imagination.
