Garry Yee

Garry Yee is originally from Sydney, Australia, but has lived and worked in several cities in Australia, the UK and China and has travelled widely.

Garry is a Design Thinking facilitator, an illustrator, writer, speaker and musician who is currently based in Qingdao, China. He enjoys walking, traveling and learning from the Arts in different cultures. His wife Hiromi is from Japan and their two adult daughters and their families live in the UK and Netherlands.

Garry's Writing

He writes in two main writing genres at present. The first is children's adventure books and the second is children's picture books which often rhyme or teach a principle.

Ronnie and Mei-Lin

In the adventure books Ronnie and Mei-Lin are the two main characters and their adventures always occur in China - so you can actually go and visit the locations! Ronnie and Mei-Lin are 10 year old cousins but Ronnie was born in Sydney Australia while Mei-Lin was born in Xian China. The first book in this adventure series is "Ronnie and Mei-Lin Meet the Stone Warriors of Xian" where they chase down a gang of artifact smugglers. The second book sees Ronnie and Mei-Lin in the far northern city of Harbin on the trail of some hi-tech jewelry thieves and the third book in the series is based in Shangri-la but is currently in the process of being written.

There's a Bee in my Tea!

Garry's third book is the first rhyming picture book called "There's a Bee in my Tea" which was published on 25 April 2025 and is loads of fun as one thirsty tea drinker deals with an annoying bee.
