Anderson Santos de Castro

Born in São Paulo and based in the ABC region of Brazil, he is the author of The Forbidden Gnostic Bible collection, a body of work devoted to the gospels excluded from the canon, the Nag Hammadi library, and the meeting between Christian gnosis and the contemplative traditions of the East. The collection includes The Forbidden Gnostic Bible, The Gnostic Key, The Code of Jesus, Gnosis and the Tao, The Word and the Atman, The Secret Sentences of Sextus, and Jesus Beyond the Bible, all published in English and in Portuguese.

Before the books came fifteen years of data analysis inside large corporations, a training that teaches you to distrust an elegant conclusion the numbers do not support. He carried that habit into the study of ancient manuscripts, and it accounts for the signature of his writing: his books refuse the two easy exits from this subject. They neither turn the formation of the Bible into a conspiracy with a date and a secret meeting, nor treat mystical experience as superstition to be explained away. Where scholarship has consensus, he reports the consensus. Where there is dispute, he shows the dispute. And where the text asks for practice, he offers practice.

He holds an MBA in Marketing from FGV and is a Master especial student in Innovation Engineering and Management at UFABC.

His work rests on a simple conviction: the silenced gospels were not buried for being false, but for making intermediaries unnecessary. He writes for the reader who grew up hearing the answers before being allowed the questions.
