In 2009 Gail was diagnosed with cancer she finished her last round of Chemo in May of 2010, this upcoming May she celebrates 13 years cancer free! Shortly after her recovery Gail was drawn to paying it forward by helping other cancer survivors, patient groups and caregivers sharing her message of hope and insights from her own journey and serving as a patient advocate and speaker. Realizing she wanted to make a difference with kids fighting cancer, Gail came up with the idea of her now annual Pay it Forward event which since 2012 has provided thousands of Teddy Bears for children battling cancer. Gail’s friends have shared in her mission to provide a smiles on faces of these special kids.
Writing my first children’s book, Paisley’s Pay it Forward Adventure, was a rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful illustrator, Nadia to bring this story to life! The book though fictional is based on the real-life story of child with Leukemia who I had met through my own pay it forward charity event. The book discusses the importance of paying it forward and small acts of kindness. In that theme of paying it forward, I will be donating 100 % of books sales to benefit charities involved with pediatric cancer. Please see charity information at bottom of this page. It has been an uplifting experience to write this book. I wanted to share some graphics designs on how Paisley and other characters were thank you for your support of Paisley’s Pay it Forward Adventure!
