Tomasz Liskiewicz

Tomasz Liskiewicz is Professor of Tribology and Surface Engineering and Head of the School of Engineering and Environment at Manchester Metropolitan University. His research focuses on functional surfaces, with particular expertise in engineering coatings and their characterisation.

He holds a doctorate in Tribology from École Centrale de Lyon and an MSc in Materials Science from Lodz University of Technology. He also spent two years in Canada leading materials projects in the oil and gas sector.

Tomasz is Editor-in-Chief of the SAGE journal Tribology – Materials, Surfaces & Interfaces. He is the founder of the not-for-profit Surface Ventures and serves as Chairman of STEM Racing Poland. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking in the Yorkshire Dales, travelling, and is an enthusiast of mechanical watches.
