Hi, I'm Thomas,

the author of "Understanding Crypto Fundamentals" and a frequent speaker at events on blockchain, Bitcoin, and cryptoassets. In particular, I enjoy sharing knowledge and insights in an accessible way for diverse audiences. My work focuses on the fundamentals that give real value to cryptoassets (Bitcoin in particular) and the management of cryptoasset-specific risks.

I studied economics and computer science, earning master's degrees from the Catholic University of Louvain and Maastricht University, as well as an MBA from INSEAD. Over my 10-year career in finance, I gathered the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager® (FRM) certifications, along with multiple blockchain certifications from esteemed institutions such as INSEAD and Oxford University.

After changing my country of residence 12 times since Bitcoin's inception in 2009, I now live in Vienna, Austria, where I pursue my passion for triathlons (full-Ironman European Championship 2017 finisher) with my wife Stefanie and our son Liam.
