Leia M. Johnson has worked as a freelance writer and editor, an educator, a library clerk, and the president of an international women's empowerment nonprofit, while balancing life as a military spouse and mother of four. If Leia could design a perfect day, it would start with quiet/reading time alone before the sun comes up, followed by some rounds of Dutch Blitz and snacks with her family, and ending with a walk in the woods with a 72º sunset. Throughout the day, every meal would involve cheese, tomatoes, and other delicious treats someone else has prepared (and magical dishes that clean and tidy themselves like that scene in The Sword in the Stone).
Her books, "Sister" and "Shine Until Tomorrow," published by Phoenix Media & Books, both center on foster care and adoption stories. Leia hopes to inspire more people to get involved with the world of foster care and adoption at the personal, communal, and legislative levels.
