TCT Cooper was born on a Monday in the early morning hours during an unusually dry spell in the late summer of 1964 in the historic port town of Ipswich, nestled along the banks of the River Orwell, which is the county town of Suffolk in the east of England, UK. It is one of the oldest towns in England, formerly known as Gippeswic. The county is famously known for its picturesque countryside, which inspired renowned artists Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. The very place that gave the world Hollywood actors Ralph Fiennes and Sam Claflin.
Growing up in a county steeped in storytelling. From the likes of the legendary 1984 author George Orwell, who took his pen name from the river, to Ronald Blythe, who immortalised the Suffolk fields within his words, to pop icons Nik Kershaw and Ed Sheeran.
Now TCT Cooper, the author of the popular children’s books The Adventures of Tinkerbell Clarita and TomTom series and Tilda and Toffee the Strange-Looking Cat, brings that same richness into her books and follows in their footsteps. She has travelled extensively with her two children, earning them the nickname “Happy Family.”
After living in Spain and Africa, they settled in Germany, where TCT balances her writing and painting career alongside a full-time job. Her writing is a source of inspiration and reflects her playful, loving, and enthusiastic approach to life. In addition to her writing, she enjoys success as an abstract painter, letting her brush flow freely as her art takes shape naturally and evolves in unique and personal ways.
