Danielle Ross is originally from Houston, Texas with roots in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communication studies and a Master’s in Education from Southern Methodist University with a concentration in Gifted and Talented Curriculum.
Danielle began her teaching career in 2016, with the Teach for America corp where she taught 6th and 7th grade reading and writing at the Dr. Billy Earl Dade Middle School in South Dallas.
Before beginning her career in the educational sector, she was heavily involved in non-profit work having served as the Communications Manager at Whole Cities Foundation (apart of the Whole Foods Network) and working with youth and community organizers from the Midnight Basketball organization in Sydney, Australia.
Danielle’s style of pedagogy emphasizes the importance of cultural relevancy and authentic student engagement in the classroom. She has a unique way of bringing all student perspectives to the forefront of learning in order to engage and highlight student voice during instruction. She co-founded a social enterprise, Education PowerED, with the mission to generate culturally responsive solutions and resources in order to end educational inequity for students of color.
