Dr. PRADIPTA KUMAR DAS Ph.D.

Pradipta Kumar Das superannuated from the largest National Oil Company in India, ONGC Limited, on 31st July 2022 where he worked as a professional geoscientist for nearly 37 and half years. He obtained a Graduate degree of Science from Utkal University in 1982, a Post Graduate Degree in Exploration Geophysics from IIT, Kharagpur in 1984, an MTech (Master of Technology) in Petroleum Exploration from the then ISM (currently IIT-ISM), Dhanbad in 1990, a Ph.D. in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 2001 and an MBA with specialisation in HR management from IGNOU in 2018; the last three while still on the professional job.

He has traveled widely in India and abroad. Among his numerous achievements and awards in various competitions; the best technical paper awards in two international geosciences conferences, one in Australia in February 2001 and one in India in January 2011 are most dear to him. He also fondly remembers the first prize for his short story in the Odiya language in a state-wide competition conducted by YMCA when he was in Junior college and the national level championship in the Corporate Business Strategy Games within ONGC official circles as the leader of a 4-member team of middle-level managers representing ONGC, Kolkata.

He has been happily married for more than 31 years now with two grown-up children. He currently lives in Bhubaneswar. Post superannuation, he has been engaged in various activities viz. popularising science, studying, and researching scientific and spiritual literature including a deeper understanding of cosmic evolution, human evolution, and civilisational growth. He is currently focused on areas viz. giving motivational talks and conducting online coaching to help students and working professionals manage modern-day stress by empowering them with the right skill sets and right mindsets. His foray into writing and publishing self-development books on wide-ranging topics is his latest passion. How to Say Goodbye to Panic Attacks is his second book and his first book titled Power of the Universe lies within you was published in November 2015.
