Elizabeth Owen

Born & raised in country NSW, Australia, I was surrounded by horses and a creative, arty family - no TV, just constantly writing stories.

I carried The Paper Horse around with me for 40 years, writing it aged 8.

I studied Visual Communications in Sydney, chasing my childhood dream of being an illustrator. While working in hospitality, found my way into freelance chalkboard design and even painted a mural for an inner-city cafe.

Now, I’m living in a coastal town with two young children of my own and decided it’s time to finish The Paper Horse- to honour my inner child, illustrate and make way for the new stories that are coming to me…
