Eileen D'Gama

I work at Airbus in the space satellite industry and enjoy writing and illustrating children's books as a hobby. My love of space led to the creation of little aliens Pip and Roo. Their first book 'Aliens in the Mars Yard' sees them accidentally hitching a ride with astronaut Tim Peak to the Mars Yard in Stevenage (where I work). In their second book, 'Aliens at the Panto - with Nala the cat', the friendly aliens meet Nala the famous Stevenage station cat and they find themselves in the middle of the local pantomime (which as another favourite thing of mine). The adventures are not over though, next year they will be sneaking on to one of our Mars missions!

This year I did my first book reading to a local Beaver group. It was so lovely to connect with the children and to see them enjoying the story. Hopefully the future will involve more ways to inspire children to read, draw and enjoy STEM subject.
