Nigel Edward Morecroft

Nigel is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society who lives and works in Edinburgh, Scotland. His professional career was in investment management and he now spends some of his time playing and writing about golf. His first book about the origins of investment management was published in 2017 by Palgrave Macmillan as part of their scholarly History of Finance series. Having written about both investment and golf, he is in a unique position having had articles published in economic journals (such as Cambridge University's 'Financial History Review') as well as in golf magazines, namely 'Through The Green', the magazine of the British Golf Collectors Society. Published in 2023, his most recent book 'St Andrews: Camelot of Golf', provides a social history of St Andrews, through the prism of golf, where he has a number of strong ties with the town mainly through the University.
