After obtaining academic degrees in Cognitive Science and then Law, David Raitt took the obvious next step and turned to comedy. He started taking improv classes at The Second City, Toronto, in 1996. By 2000, he'd been hired into their Canadian National Touring Company. He performed with the Mainstage ensemble and was also on the Training Centre Education faculty for 17 years.
Dave has over 20 years of experience as an improv instructor. He especially loves physical comedy, offering specialty workshops in environment, object work, and physicality in character and performance. He is the curator of Improv Illusionist, a website to level up your Physical Improv skills. Check it out at https://improvillusionist.com.
He also uses improv to teach interpersonal communication skills to business teams, students, at-risk youth, and the public.
Today he is a proud member of the Oakville Improv Theatre Company. He teaches and performs in the Greater Toronto Area and worldwide.
