Howard Englander

During his long business career Howard Englander held many titles. But as he quickly learned after retiring, the lofty nameplates no longer apply when your career ends and you move from the corner office to a corner of the basement den. Howard set out to revitalize the basic underpinning on which his life rested, moving away from net worth as a measure of happiness to discovering an inner peace independent of praise or criticism from others.

Howard’s latest book is Embracing Elderhood: The Three Stages of Healthy, Happy and Meaningful Senior Years. The spritely collection of essays recounts the three time frames for the inevitable problems and unexpected opportunities that lie ahead for America’s growing senior population.

He is the author of Cheating Death, How to Add Years of Joy and Meaning to Life, exposing the social-media culture that challenges seniors to resist becoming irrelevant in a youth-oriented society.
