Oliver Stelling

Oliver Stelling is an international advisor with a career stretching over three decades in corporate and government communications, including 25 years in Asia. He served as Country Manager, Regional Director and Head of Strategy for global communications networks in Malaysia, China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. Oliver founded FutureScore Communications in Hong Kong, acted as a Non-Executive Director for an Asian think tank and advised management consultants in Europe and Asia. His focus is on East-West relations and the nexus between strategic communications and public diplomacy; the culmination of a life dedicated to Asia and communications.

His book CommunicAsian, published by Routledge / Taylor & Francis Group, is written with an international audience in mind and aimed at striking a note with younger and older generations in both the East and the West. It emphasizes the upsides of innovation-led communications, including some soul-searching and self-questioning of long-held beliefs and idiosyncratic outlooks. The intent is to promote a more inclusive take on research, planning and implementation; the best way to ensure that communications, arguably one of the most significant cultural techniques of our time, will become future-ready.
